Emese Csiki (more…)

(more…)

GROW Summer 2011: “Goodbye” seems to be the hardest word..

This summer’s edition of GROW Project was addressed to the 11th and 12th grade highschool students and it brought in our city 4 internationals. They dedicated their summer to these students and helped them  discover themselves and  find out what they want to do with their lives.

There were 6 beautiful weeks, with funny, serious but most of all constructive meetings. No end is a happy one and the end of our project was no exception. Starting with the internationals saying a few words to their students, everybody dancing and having a lot of fun, and ending with the diploma moment, the whole ceremony was full of emotions.

The event hosted  3 more internationals present in our city (more…)

My story in Romania (2)…

AIESEC Targu Mures organized in summer 2010 two big projects for the local community, based on international volunteers,  Sustainable Development for the Community and Grow. For a period of 3 months, Targu Mures was the home of 16 internationals from all over the world. Were they from Brazil or China, they had a wonderful time here, gathered great memories and passed along their countries their impressions about Romania.

“As a member in AIESEC since 2008 I had high expectations for my internship in Tîrgu Mureş. My experience during that summer of 2010 surpassed all expectations. I worked for 2 months at Alpha Transilvana foundation as a marketing trainee. I learned a lot and had a chance to challenge a lot of ideas.  I attended a lot of different events and 3 different conferences, one of which was International Train the Trainers, which was an unforgettable experience for me. “I went to Romania without any expectations, still preparing myself at the aeroport, with my luggage as only company, for one of the greatest adventure of my life. I ended up coming back with a better experience than I could ever imagine.

I realized a dream, I met people that will be forever etched in my memory. I wish I could put into words everything that I lived, felt and saw so others could felt it too. As I know that it’s impossible all that I can do is encourage others to have an international experience like mine and to truly live it.”

My way to become a leader

Hello! I’m Otilia Kovacs, currently Vice President of Finance Department in AIESEC Târgu Mureş. My leadership story begins in 5th of January 2010 when I became project coordinator on a project called World Citizenship. It was a project for high school students to develop personal and inter-relational skills through trainings and workshops kept by trainers from other countries that came through the Global Internship Program of AIESEC. This experience put me in the head of a 4 member team which were extremely proactive and I had to lead them on the right path and not to lose the focus on the project. When I saw the pupils being happy about taking part to the project I coordinated, I felt extremely good and this motivated me to want to lead other teams too.

So I applied for Vice president and I was successfully elected, and from 1st of April 2010 I am leading the finance team in AIESEC Târgu Mureş. This experience was and still is the most challenging for me because  (more…)

Poland -friends, fun, workshops and pierogis

When I joined AIESEC Târgu Mureş in 2008, I only wanted an internship with Global Internship Program. I got to know better the organisation, so I decided to get involved in its activity and after 2 years I participated in an international internship. This is how I spent the last 2 months of 2010 in Poland: I have participated in an internship on social field, within a national project organized by AIESEC Poland. Together with other trainees from all over the world, we have  conducted workshops about global issues for students in Lower Silesian high-schools, as my host local committee was Wroclaw UT.

If I am looking back now, I am sure that these 2 months were the most active and intense ones from my life , with a lot of memories. This is how in 8 weeks I lived in 8 different cities (more…)
